Life In Full Bloom Website
Fall 2025Life in Full Bloom Website
Life in Full Bloom is an interactive museum exhibit concept that teaches children about the life cycle of flowers through engaging visuals and digital interaction. The desktop version of the website was designed as a companion experience for the physical exhibit, allowing visitors to explore each stage of growth from seed to full bloom in a hands-on and visually dynamic way.
I began the design process by creating two moodboards that explored different concepts and branding directions. After selecting the first concept as the strongest fit for the exhibit’s theme, I moved into hand-drawn wireframes to outline the structure and flow of the website. These sketches were then developed into low-fidelity drafts and eventually refined into the final high-fidelity design

Moodboards & Concept Exploration:
This project began with research and visual exploration to establish a clear creative direction. Two concepts were developed and evaluated before selecting the Life in Full Bloom art style as the final identity.
The branding process included:
Initial concept ideation and brainstorming
Development of two distinct museum concepts
Creation of mood boards to define visual style and emotional tone
Exploration and selection of typography and color palettes
Refinement of the brand identity through iterative design decisions
Application of the final branding system to website and experience design
The mood boards helped establish the project's visual language, drawing inspiration from natural growth, botanical forms, community, and discovery. Carefully selected typography reinforces the brand's welcoming and modern personality while maintaining strong readability across both digital and physical experiences.
Branding Development
Once the final concept was selected, I refined the visual identity through typography, color exploration, and graphic elements. The branding was designed to feel welcoming, educational, and engaging for children while maintaining a cohesive and professional appearance. These decisions helped create a consistent visual experience that carried through every stage of the project.
Hand Drawn Wireframe
The hand-drawn wireframes served as the foundation for the website's structure and user flow. Sketching layouts by hand allowed me to rapidly experiment with navigation, content placement, and page organization before moving into digital design. This process helped identify the most effective way to guide users through the exhibit experience.
Low Fidelity
The low fidelity version focused on layout and user flow. I designed wireframes that mapped out how users would navigate through the site, including the main homepage with my hero image, info page and then the final ticketing page. This stage allowed me to test how visitors could move between sections easily and understand the progression of the flower life cycle without relying on color or detailed graphics. It helped ensure the structure was clear and the learning goals were supported before adding design elements.
High Fidelity
In the high fidelity version, I refined the visuals and interactions in Figma to bring the experience to life. I used a bright nature-inspired color palette, soft rounded shapes, and large interactive buttons that felt inviting to younger audiences. I created and refined every image in Adobe Firefly. I also focused on accessibility by using clear text and consistent visual hierarchy, making it easy for children and families to explore together.
Creating Life in Full Bloom taught me how to design an educational experience that combines interaction, storytelling, and visual design. It strengthened my skills in user experience and interface design while helping me understand how technology can enhance museum learning. This project represents my interest in creating meaningful digital experiences that connect education with creativity.
User Experience & Design Decisions
Throughout the design process, I focused on creating an intuitive and engaging user experience that aligned with the Life in Full Bloom theme. Design decisions were guided by accessibility, clear navigation, and visual storytelling. Elements such as color, typography, and imagery were chosen to support the museum's message of growth, discovery, and connection while maintaining a cohesive brand identity across all pages.
Challenges & Iterations
One of the key challenges was balancing an engaging visual experience with clear and accessible navigation. Through multiple iterations, I refined layouts, adjusted visual elements, and simplified user pathways to create a design that felt both immersive and easy to use. Feedback and testing helped shape the final direction of the project.
Final Outcome
The completed website successfully communicates the Life in Full Bloom exhibit through an engaging and child-friendly digital experience. By combining thoughtful branding, research, and user-centered design principles, the project demonstrates the full design process from concept development to final execution. The website also became the foundation for the next stage of the project: a companion mobile app designed for the exhibit experience. Using the same visual identity and branding system, the app extended the Life in Full Bloom concept into a second platform, creating a cohesive experience across both digital touchpoints.
